FAQ

Frequently asked questions

Straight answers for players, parents, scouts and representatives.

What is RI Scouts?

RI Scouts is a football talent platform that connects players with scouts and representatives. Players build a profile with their position, stats, videos and coach-verified proof; scouts and representatives search for talent and get in touch. It's for men's and women's football, anywhere in the world.

Is RI Scouts free?

Joining is free for players, scouts and representatives, and so is building your profile. In the future we may offer optional upgrades with a cost, and we'll always tell you clearly before anything costs money.

How do I get scouted?

Create your profile and make it count: add your position, club, season stats and highlight videos, choose your strengths, and ask coaches to endorse you and confirm your times. Scouts and representatives search by position, age, country, league level and more, and complete profiles show up higher in the results. When someone is interested, they message you on RI Scouts.

Who can see my profile?

If you're 18 or over, anyone can open your profile, but visitors who aren't logged in see your surname shortened to an initial. It appears on Google and other search engines only if you switch that on in your settings — it's off by default. Profiles of players under 18 work differently: see the next question.

Is it safe for players under 18?

Yes. Safety is part of how RI Scouts works, not an optional setting. Players can join from age 13. A parent or guardian approves every youth profile, sees who viewed, shortlisted or messaged their child, and can hide the profile in one click. Youth profiles are never public and never appear on Google; they're shown to scouts and representatives we've verified, and to a representative a parent has approved for their own child. A scout's or representative's first message to a young player is a request the player can accept or decline.

Who can contact me?

Scouts and representatives can message you, and you decide whether to reply. You can also write to representatives. Conversations stay inside RI Scouts, and you can block or report anyone at any time. For players under 18, extra rules apply: see above.

How are scouts and representatives verified?

Scouts and representatives send us proof of who they are and the role they hold: an official link, a note or a document. Our team reviews it before an account gets the Verified badge. Only verified accounts can view or message players under 18 — the one exception is a representative a parent has approved for their own child.

What are coach endorsements and verified times?

They're proof that scouts can trust. You can invite up to 5 coaches to write a short endorsement for your profile. You can also ask a coach or witness to confirm your sprint and jump times: a confirmed time shows a Verified badge with the confirmer's name and stays verified for a year.

I'm a representative. Can I add my players?

Yes. Invite your players with a personal link and keep them together on your roster. Once you're verified, you can also get in touch with scouts. If a player is under 18, a parent or guardian approves the profile first.

Does RI Scouts place players in clubs?

RI Scouts is where you get noticed — it isn't a club or an agency, so it doesn't place anyone itself. Verified clubs post tryouts and calls under Opportunities, and you contact the club directly using the details in the listing. Any trial, contract or transfer is agreed directly between you and the club.

Can I delete my account and my data?

Yes, at any time. From your dashboard you can download a copy of your data or delete your account. Deleting removes your profile, photos, messages and uploaded documents; copies in our backups are overwritten over time. If a report about your account is still being reviewed, we keep the data until that review is finished, for at most 30 days, and then delete it.

Where is my data stored?

Your data is stored on servers in the EU. We never sell, rent or trade your personal data. The details are in our Privacy Policy.
